I cut some fabric on Friday night and sewed this top this morning. Easy peasy and quick. The pattern is from this Japanese craft book. Just two piece, front and back, and some bias binding from the same fabric. I think I’ve fallen in love with self fabric bias binding. It’s just lovely.
Of course my sewing is still not that neat. I got puckers here and there, but at least the insides are all clean. I did French seams on the shoulders and sides. And it needs some ironing too, which will not be happening anytime soon. I hope it looks handmade, not homemade (or is it the other way around?). Well, it’s good enough a result that I’m already eyeing the next pattern.
Happy weekend sewing everyone!

it looks great! I’m still working up the courage to try my hand at sewing a top for myself.
so pretty, you did such a great job! you are very talented
i just came across your blog…this top is sooo cute-i love the fabric! i just attempted sewing my first top, i might try this one next.
Would you be willing to give some details on this project, given that Japanese craft books are hard to get AND in Japanese? I’d love to try to make this.
i love this top. you really did a nice top. i really struggle with the japanese craft patterns so much
I have this book. I bought it months ago, but am so confused on cutting out the pattern. I love your top, it looks great on you.
