I’m not so sure how, but it seems like I’ve lost my blogging mojo. There’s just something about fall that always makes me sad. Maybe it’s means the end of sunny summer days, or the days that’s just getting shorter and shorter, or the declining temperatures? Or maybe it’s all of them combined together. I lost all will and energy to take pictures and write on the blog.

I am trying to snap out of it and take some pics this morning of a new fabric stack for the Savvy Seasons Swap. I’ll be making a Christmas table runner with it. Yummy fabrics that should get me out of this mood.

I didn’t even tell you that I just did a craft fair back in September! I sold half of my inventory, so that’s not too bad, right? Also, Miss A has started preschool, so I have about two hours of solo time with my boy twice a week. Here’s some random pics of what’s happening while I was away from here.

I signed up for another fabulous swap organized by Heather and Kerri. And today is the partner assignment day! I already received my partner’s info on my email so I’m assuming someone else out there received my info too. Here’s some wonderful inspirations for you, secret partner!

And for those of you who’s not clear on what I’m requesting from that lovely mosaic up there, I’m really wishing for a wall pocket/organizer, a patchwork bath mat, a wall art, a fabric box, or a table runner. My partner’s wish list is partially similar to mine, so I’ve already got some ideas on what to make!

I made this quilt top yesterday, it’s about 20″ square and it’s intended for a Heather Ross quilt swap over on Flickr. I found out about the quilt through this group. A truly wonderful group that really fuels your fabric buying and swapping frenzy. I’ve been swapping left and right since I joined for a total of 15 swaps. As a result, I have to expand my fabric storage area because I have two tall stacks of lovely Heather Ross and Denyse Schmidt fabrics. And I still don’t have any Heather Ross’ mushrooms or some the Flea Market Fancy prints, grrrrr… It’s mostly due to my lack of swappable fabrics, not that those ladies don’t have it to swap. Too bad, huh? Here’s some of the yummy-ness I received.

I still have to make a small thing to go with the quilt, but I think I’ll do that after I finished my Doll Quilt Swap 7 quilt! Yes, I finally got to join that swap, which hereafter will be referred to as DQS7. I’ve picked a bunch of quilts as my favorites and am waiting for my partner info. I’m already itching to make a doll quilt asap! I did get to make something during the unintended blog break due to summer vacation, but it’s a super secret project that’s not supposed to be blogged about so I will keep my mouth shut and just tell you that I love love it so much. I got to use some of favorite fabrics and it’s just perfect.

Looking at the mosaic, I realized that I’m into bright colors combined with lots of whites or neutrals. I’m a little bit surprised at that, because I never thought that I have a decided preference to color combos. It’s definitely nice to know, and I think I need to get some more fabrics to fulfill that hehee…

I’m starting to fall of the every day bandwagon here. But trust me, I am making something everyday. I finished the doll yesterday and made her an undersuit. Today, it’s a dress. Tonight, I traced and cut some fabrics to make Abby’s summer clothes.

And here’s my upcoming plans for the month: two or three pillows, a skirt, some fabric art for the wall, a cardigan, a dress or two for Abby, some bags, more dolls and doll’s clothes, a doll quilt, some alphabet embroidery, and a birthday banner. Whew, I hope I’ll get through that list by the end of the month AND plan a birthday party for Abby.

I’m on a Denyse mood. I’m not really making quilts (yet), I’m still pondering what I want to make. I am currently stalking Flickr for Denyse inspired quilts and reading her book over and over. I bring it everywhere with me, dining table, bed, Abby’s room, library, and yes even to the bathroom!

1. house4, 2. fussy cutting again, 3. Patchwork house, 4. Patchwork house, 5. Patchwork house, 6. House Block, 7. Another house block, 8. Quilted Log Cabin House pillow, 9. House Block 1

I’ve been thinking about what I want for my month for Sew Connected. It’s still not coming up until June (or July?) but I want to be ready so I can watch out for suitable fabrics. Then I remember this and that’s it! So my theme is fairytale houses. Do you see the details on the blocks there? It’s pretty amazing, full of stamping, lace, ricrac, buttons, yum. Now I have to dive into my fabric stash to see which one would work out or do I need more fabrics. I do always need new fabrics.

And then I saw this and this. I got me thinking, I can make my own gifts here. I got lots of books that’s not used yet (no project made out of). My plan is use those books as the base of the gifts and make kits. Maybe sew some linen project bags? And put the book inside along with some fabrics or yarns and the accompanying notions like those pictured on PurlBee. Embroidery hoops, embroidery floss, and embroidery book. Yarn, needle, and knitting magazine. Fabric, buttons, and one of my dozens of girl’s clothes book. Softie making, doll quilt, Amy Butler bags? My head is reeling with ideas here. Maybe one bag for every month next year? When I’m done I’ll have twelve empty bags for gift-giving next year! Or make another set for the next next year!

I finally got my hands on the new Stitch magazine. I love that Tulip skirt by Jenny Gordy. Her clothes are gorgeus and out of my range so the pattern is so very welcome. I also love those hexagon zakka from i heart linen. And those jar labels too. Fiddly little things to make but I’m sure it’s going to make me more organized (I hope). While browsing through the magazine section, I spotted Martha Holiday magazine too . Better snatch that one too since it’s the only copy left.

Oh, and I also got new catalogs from J. Crew and Boden. Talk about temptations!

Secret project is done. I need to go to the post office later to mail it.

Josie has just opened a new shop. Go check it out! She got an awesome traveling art show for your little artists.

Saw this post earlier today and I want that magazine!

Saw this few days ago and broke down and called them and bought some more of these.
