I can’t get enough of this pattern! This is a part of my plan for a handmade Christmas, a quilted tree skirt made from one block of Single Girl pattern. Made mostly from Denyse Schmidt fabrics with others mixed in. Unexpectedly, my favorite patch is the little cat wearing a red dress, cut from an Ikea fabric. Can you see her? The quilting lines are inspired by Ashley’s quilt. The binding are ugly though, I didn’t have the time to sew it by hand so I just sew it down with my machine. I have never done this before, and it’s just plain ugly and uneven. I can live with it. I promise myself I’ll do it properly after Christmas. Think of it as basting, not a real binding. The middle part is not bind either, also an after Christmas project.

More Christmas project, the stockings are done, except for the names. I’ll do that next year, so I’ll need something to do next year, right? Besides, Papa said that he might want to change color next year so I am making the right decision not to embroider it now, ha!

And some selfish Christmas knitting for me, Evangeline (Ravelry link). Made from plain ol’ Cascade 220, so that it would stand everyday wear. More on Christmas knitting, I forgot if I ever told you that I’m knitting a Christmas sweater for Papa? Well, never mind if I ever told you or not because it’s not here anymore. It’s been completely frogged because halfway through I asked him to try it on and it’s huuuugee! I carelessly knitted without checking my gauge. I guess another after Christmas project for me. He already knows that I’m knitting it for him so I HAVE to finish it this winter, if not for this Christmas.

I saw this project on PurlBee and immediately thought, this is perfect for our family! The only problem is, I couldn’t narrow down the color choices to four. So I already bought five Kona Cottons, red, tangerine, bright pink, lime, and sable. Two more is on the way, pomegranate and chocolate. I couldn’t even decide which color goes to who. I will make five stockings out of them and let Papa decide which one is for me, for himself, and for baby Chris. The pink one is spoken for (Miss Abby), but the others are fair game. The lone sock that’s not chosen will go to you! Pick one favorite color and if that happens to be the one that Papa didn’t choose for us, I will send it out to you, complete with the embroidered name too.

Do you know this new book, One Yard Wonder? It’s a fabulous book full of projects that only needs one yard of fabric. Now, depending on where you buy your fabric, that would cost you at most $10. That’s great, right? What’s even better, it’s got my a project of mine! It’s this little girl’s jumper. There’s no modeled shots in the book so here’s Abby wearing hers. I made her this more than a year ago and she’s outgrown it last fall. It’s time to make her a new one. She’s just a baby in this photo, just look at those little folds on the wrist!

More photos here. I’ll try to make her a new jumper this weekend using the instructions because I truly forgot about it and I want to check if there’s any mistake with it.

A bunny! I made her from Fiona’s pattern. An easy pattern really, but I made it hard for myself by using wool instead of the suggested flannel. It’s a pain trying to turn the limbs inside out with such thick fabric. The wool does give her a lovely fuzzy texture that’s nice to cuddle with. Abby used her as a nap buddy right away after I finished her this morning.

Here’s another shot without the skirt. I used a Heather Ross print for her skirt. I’m almost tempted to sew it without changing thread, but decided not to and rethread my machine. I’m glad I did! Can you spot another Heather print there?

These are for another swap over on Flickr, hexies! I’m in love with them and it’s easy to stitch them up, as long as I have the patience to cut the fabrics in advance and I can sit quietly with no baby or toddler to bother me. Since they are quite easy, I decided to make two hoops to send. One is 8″ and the other is 7″. Hope you’ll like them, secret partner!

Well, technically only a pillow cover since it’s to be sent away for a swap. It would be more expensive to ship a big pillow, right? The backing is a 30s reproduction print that I recently got at a new quilt shop close to my home. It’s like 5 minutes drive! It’s a good thing they don’t sell too much designers’ fabric so my wallet is safe.

And the mouse is for a contest over at my local fabric shop, made from Sewing Stars’ pattern. Cute, no? Any ideas for it’s name?

Almost two months and look at those cheeks. Abby was never this chubby so I’m always amazed when I see him.

Sew along lazy days skirt in Kokka fabric and linen trim. I made this one a little bigger to fit her until summer because the pink one the other day is a perfect fit.

I joined Lazy Days Skirt sew along here and this is the skirt of the day. Made in pink to please Abby and made from Munki fabric to please me. In true lazy spirit, I cut this from the bottom part of a pajama top so no hemming is necessary. I also added the cute monkey tag from the pj to the tell the back of the skirt from the front but my model won’t let me take off her new skirt!
