fall inspiration

I found this pattern through Label-Free. Don’t you think this would make a perfect fall coat? I’ve been wanting an empire waist coat since I saw it in a magazine years ago. Mind you, that magazine was Domino and it was on a feature on someone’s home.  That particular someone is wearing a pale pink [...]

no pattern sewing

It’s hard to take a picture of an energetic baby. She kept moving around so these are the best that I can do under the ciurcumstances so I can show you the dress that I made this morning. Inspired by this one, mine is made from navy cotton with big wooden buttons. I just cut [...]

yesterday…

… I finished the second bubble dress complete with the scallops. This time it’s not as neat as the first because I rushed the sewing. I just wanted it done and off of my sewing/dining table.

I also made block #8 from the quilt along. This one is called Maple Star. It’s good to be back [...]

mama’s new bag

I just finished sewing this fabulous bag. Pattern by Liesl from Disdressed. She also has a children clothing pattern, Oliver + S. The pattern makes a professional looking bag. Even better than Amy Butler, I think. It’s all in the little details, the hardware, the lining, the inside facing, the zippered pocket, everything!

I’m using Etsuko [...]

meet anna

Everyone, this is Anna. She is baby’s birthday present made from the pattern in this book. The background is a doll quilt that I made in January from 1930s fabric squares. It’s about 17″x19″ and Anna is abut 20″ tall.
Anna is supposed to have two pigtails from wool felt but the baby keeps chewing and [...]

week 3

Week 3 done! I also finished 2 of the 12 setting blocks. Not too bad, eh? They look so pretty lined up together. Can’t wait for the next installment, Amanda Jean!
Meanwhile, I’d like to make a top for myself. I tried to make this Built by Wendy pattern with disastrous result. First, it was way [...]
